Summer Camps

TKG is now offering Summer Programs, aligned with our School mission & values, for our students and our greater community.Community-HessePark-Week9-2015 Enrollment at TKG is not necessary to participate. The following camps are available this Summer, 2016:

5 Week Series beginning June 27: Summer Field Days with TKG
9am to 1pm, extended childcare until 3pm available

Eventbrite - Summer FIELD DAYS at The Knowing Garden

FieldDayWeek30Field day with The Knowing Garden is designed to enhance academic learning through an extended connection to nature and a community with which to explore social/emotional, physical and cognitive growth. This adventure is open to students ages 7 to 11. Registration covers the program and materials – sign up for the Summer series or drop in for any of these dates: June 27, July 11, July 25, August 8 & August 22.

August 1-5 TKG CAMP: PASSION PROJECTS
9am to 1pm, extended care may be available.

Eventbrite - TKG Camp: Passion Projects (August 1-5)

Passion Project time is a regular part of the TKG’s daily schedule. We dedicate this time for students to imagine and create their vision. In this camp, students will immerse themselves in a passion project by: developing their concept for a passion project, budgeting and purchasing key materials, executing their vision and presenting their work. Camp will incorporate big body movement, mindfulness opportunities and community time.

JULY 18-22: Nature Week: TKG’s Environmental Stewards Camp
9am to 1pm, extended childcare until 3pm available
Location: White Point Nature Preserve

Camp NatureWeek will immerse students in one of Southern California’s treasures: The White Point Nature Preserve featuring 102 acres of restored coastal sage scrub habitat, hiking and handicap accessible trails overlooking the ocean and Catalina Island. Week125to7Through a curriculum designed to address California Content Standards in Science, activities place the tools of science into the hands of the students, asking them to lead their own investigations and experiments, to collect information and explore. While increasing student literacy in the sciences, this program aims to expose students to the natural environment in meaningful and engaging ways that foster a strong sense of stewardship and connection with the natural world.  The preserve is only 30 minutes away from TKG and the local area is very friendly for you to work, run errands or take in some local culture (see the registration for some of our recommendations).

CAMP: SCIENCE FAIR FEST

Science Fair Fun! We’ll set up various projects each day and let students explore scientific method and dream up some STEAM adventures!
